Sun Cycle Not Causing Global Warming, Scientists Say
Scientists from Britain's Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and the World Radiation Centre in Davos, Switzerland have completed a study of the suns cycles, including its 11 year sunspot cycle, and found no link between it and global warming.
The scientists believe that solar activity has influenced the planet in the past but is not doing so today. The Royal Society added that the conclusions were an important argument to further the theory of warming being caused by human activity.
"At present there is a small minority which is seeking to deliberately confuse the public on the causes of climate change. They are often misrepresenting the science, when the reality is that the evidence is getting stronger every day," they say.
